A Water Assistance program that was expected to start this month has been delayed. Â LIWHAP – Low Income Household Water Assistance Program – is designed to assist low-income residents with their water bills, much the way LIHEAP helps with heating and cooling.
Jennifer Farmer, the Administrative Services Manager for Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri says they Initially planned to begin last October, and the program has already seen several delays. The latest plan was to start February 1st, but recent information released to participating agencies now says it will most likely be early March before the program is up and running.
No further information has been made available regarding an actual opening date.
