Two Arrested Following Fire Investigation Saturday

A fire Saturday morning at a hotel at 1020 South Washington Street summoned Chillicothe Fire Department.  The call came in about 8:35 am and the firefighters arrived in a few minutes to find smoke and flames coming from 2 levels of an exterior staircase.  500 gallons of water was used to put out the fire.  No injuries were reported.

Chillicothe Police Officers were dispatched to assist the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services at the fire scene. The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office also responded to investigate.  As a result, Officer’s and Deputy Marshall’s arrested a 23-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman for arson.  They were taken to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.
