Police Report Includes Death And Stolen Truck

The Chillicothe Police Department responded to nearly 200 calls for service Sunday and Monday.  Some of the calls include:

Sunday,

07:27 a.m., Officers responded to a location on Bridge St. for an unresponsive male. The male was deceased at the time of arrival. The investigation is continuing.

07:43pm Officers responded to the area of Polk and Broadway for a suspicious man walking through yards and looking in mail boxes. The man was detained. Officers later found Drugs and drug paraphilia on him.  He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

Monday, May 16th 2022

08:34 AM Officers took a stealing report from a business on BUS. 36 HWY in which nearly a felony amount of fuel was taken out of a large truck.

04:10 PM Officers took a report of identity theft in the 700 block of Baptist home Ln.

06:02 PM Officers located a suspect who had violated a protection order in the 600 block of Woodward. That person was taken into custody and transported to Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

10:38 PM Officers were called to the scene of an accident near Ryan Street and 2nd Street in which a rock truck had run into a ditch and the driver fled the area on foot. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the accident was actually a failed attempt to steal the vehicle. The investigation continues.
