Food Price Increases Slowing

Going to the grocery store has taken a bigger bite of our paycheck this year as food prices are nearing 10% higher than 2021.  USDA Economist Matt MacLachland says mid-summer, the rate of increase for food began to slow as the inputs for the producers began to recover.

MacLachland says this may not mean price drops at the store.

Don’t look for your grocery bill to drop heading into the major holidays, but the increases should not be as dramatic.
